Using up Scraps : Scrapalope’s

Last night I posted my bag of scrap patterned paper and cardstock… let’s just say there’s rather a lot of it!!

Sooooo…. I plan to make good use of it all before I go cracking open any fresh sheets of paper/cardstock πŸ™‚

I had a rummage through it tonight looking for biggish bits that I could turn into scrapalopes/envelopes, and I found a couple of suitable bits, here are the finished envies

The one on the left is Stampin Up Christmas Paper and the one of the Right is by Bo Bunny

I also had a wee tinker around with the chipboard flowers I painted yesterday..

So that’s me for the night…. tomorrow is Friday and I love heading up to my workshop on a Friday night, I have more plans for the bag of scraps πŸ˜‰

p.s. If anyone can let me know how to edit video’s i’d be ever so grateful, you know how you watch tutorials on youtube and they speed the process up so that the video doesnt run past the 15 mins, I need to learn how to do that πŸ™‚ thanks

  1. Love the scrapalopes/envelopes and would love a rundown on how you made them.

For my one and only Youtube video my DH used the software from Roxio to edit mine but you can use WIndows Movie Maker if you have Windows XP, Vista or 7. Windows Movie Maker comes as part of the Windows progammes on those operating systems but it also depends on what type of file format your video is saved in – for example WMM doesn’t seem able to deal with .mov format but copes well with .avi. As I had borowed our daughter’s camcorder and that took videos in .mov then we had to use Roxio Creator and I bought it very cheaply off ebay! Think a new version of Roxio costs almost Β£50 whereas I paid less than Β£20 including P&P from ebay. I bought version 2009. Hope that helps a little.

    Best wishes

    • Hi Lynn…

Thanks so much for popping over and leaving a comment. I made a tutorial for youtube on the scrapalopes, there is a link to this a couple of posts back the way from this one, they are real easy to do and adds a nice touch to handmade cards to have an envelope in the same paper πŸ™‚

I have Windows Movie Maker, but it does’nt do the “speed things up” part that I need, thanks for the tip in Roxio Creator, I will research and look into this tomorrow πŸ™‚

  2. The Scrapalopes are great! It looks like you used some very cool techniques on those flowers! I’m afraid I can’t help you with the editing info…sorry!
