Satin Flower Brooch

I’ve been trying to think of easy things to make down in the house until I can get back up to my workshop….

Our gas central heating broke down completely on Christmas Day, so we had to bring my Oil Filled radiator and my Fan heater down from the workshop to keep us warm… it’s amazing just how quickly a house cools down when you have no heating and its minus 8 degrees outside brrrrr…..  🙂

So i’m in the house, watching everyones fab youtube videos and looking for things to make, that I dont have to bring tons of stuff down from the workshop…

This Satin Flower Brooch was the ideal starter…. I had already die cut the flowers from satin material, they just needed the ends sealed off with a naked flame & assembled with a brad and a brooch pin (I burned the edges a bit lol) but it looks fine as it’s just for me

Hope you all had a fabulous christmas 🙂

  1. ooooh Sarah! Not what you need right now. Stay warm (I hope you did not get a cold 😦 you were sneezing last video). Love the flower!

  2. That’s really pretty Sarah. No heat – not fun. I know how that feels. We’re getting our first snowstorm of the season here in New York. By tomorrow we will have up to 18″ of snow.

    1. Hi Lorraine, glad you like the brooch, I love green 🙂

We only have to get through one more day being without heat, the gas engineer will be here tomorrow afternoon thank goodness…

When I read your comment here I hopped over to CBS News to watch your snow report 🙂 Stay warm and safe 18″ is a lot of snow!

We still have loads of snow lying here, it has never gone away since the 28th November, but luckily we have not had any new snow falling, we just have sub-zero temperatures which is the reason for it staying around so long.

Be sure to leave a wee comment on the Christmas Day Giveaway post, there is a gorgeous felt owl shopping bag kit up for grabs 😉

Take Care and stay safe with all that snow

      Sarah xx
