Shabby Chic Halloween Card

THE Ribbon Reel ~ Challenge #12 – Autumn Elegance.

I really enjoy participating in the card challenges over a the ribbon reel and the challenge for this fortnight is Autumn Elegance with the picture below as inspiration and the criteria set as “Orange, Neutrals and flowers” …

And here is my take on the challenge… it’s a chipboard side easel card

I painted the chipboard with oatmeal coloured acrylic paint, then layered it with a mixture of Muslin and stitched patterned paper and some raffia ruffles 🙂

Supplies List :-

  • Chipboard cut to measure 6″ x 4″
  • Acrylic paint in white and Coffee, blended together
  • Muslin Fabric
  • Oatmeal Raffia Ribbon
  • Paper Doily painted with acrylic paint to match card base
  • Sassafras Lass Sweetly Smitten 6×6 patterned paper
  • Melon Seam Binding and Cream crochet lace from the ribbon reel
  • Mulberry Flowers
  • Chipboard swirl
  • Yellow skeleton leaves
  • Digital Download from Etsy

  1. This is a cute card that you made. I’m new to wordpress and trying to find other users that are crafters that I can follow and be followed, if interested or even if you have any suggestions or comments, I’m really quite clueless, lol.

    1. Hi there…

Thanks so much for visiting my blog 🙂

I make a couple of suggestions with regards to following and joining in with a great bunch of girls within the crafting community.

      1. You could Join Twitter. I have made a lot of crafty friends there all of whom are a great bunch of girls and also all the main crafting manufacturers are on twitter, I usually hear about everything new that’s going on via twitter 🙂

      2. Ustream is a great place to meet people too, I have made a lot of friends there. I usually do live ustream shows at the weekends or the odd one during the week when i’m working on projects for wither Wild Orchid Crafts or for Youtube and my blog, its a place where crafters can come and join in the fun, watch you make stuff and have a chat at the same time.

If you would like any help with the above just give me a shout, all the links to these are on the right hand side bar on my blog

      Sarah x

  2. I love this card! I’m interested in knowing what item number the tiny closed rosebuds are. I have ordered twice from WOC trying to get more of them and keeping getting something different. (the picture looks like it might be it and then when it gets here it’s too big or too own fault for not keeping the paper from before telling me what I ordered.)

    1. Hi Lori…

Thanks so much for visiting my blog… Here is the code for the Rosebuds that I used on the card the Product Number is : EX-00026 and the description reads 100 “FLORAL FOUNDATIONS” YELLOW/ORANGE TONE MULBERRY PAPER ROSEBUDS 4MM. Hope this helps

      Sarah 🙂
