Shabby Chic Ornament

Hi everyone… and a happy Sunday to you all!

The weather here today is a mixture of sunshine and rain.. ..  so what better way to spend a lazy sunday than in your craft space 🙂 and that’s exactly where I headed this morning.

I read through some books when I got up there whilst I was drinking a nice hot cup ot tea.. one of which was a book called Pretty Little Felts by Julie Collings the ISBN number for it is ISBN-13: 978-1-60061-090-5.    On page 22 was a lovely little “Window Ornament” project, and this is the project I have to share with you all today.

The picture, is my Golden Retriever, Sam, he had the pleasure of owning me many years ago, and sadly passed away not long after my son was born from liver cancer.   He was the most handsome, loyal, disobedient barking hound lol.

Remember those Glass Nuggets?…

We all bought them, didn’t we?… Why not “Use it Up” and turn them into stunning christmas/holiday ornament/baubles..

I love how they turned out, I noticed a post on Pintrest a while back and have been meaning to try this out for ages.

I just Love…Love…Love these!!! and I have a video tutorial up on youtube showing how I made them, the link to my channel is in the side bar of my blog.

I also made some smaller ones and decorated them with rhinestones, they turned out rather cute too 🙂

you can pick these small packs of baubles up from Ikea…

then I used up some prima flower centres to decorate the final one…

Thanks for popping round 🙂

Floral Reflections…

Hi Everyone…. and a very happy friday to you all.

Here is this week’s Design Team project for Wild Orchid Crafts, there are a ton of flowers on this project this week!

This project is an altered Ikea square wooden mirror, I tossed a coin to see what colour it was going to be because I couldn’t choose between green or pink… head’s won and green it was 🙂

here is the before picture

I gave it a coat of White gesso and then a coat of Early Spring Green edged with antique white acrylic paints

Halloween Treat Bag & Giveaway

Happy Sunday everyone… hope your all having a lovely weekend and the weather is being kind wherever you may be…

The sun is shining here and the sky is blue .. and my wee shed at the top of the garden is toasty warm with the sun streaming in through the window…

Today I have been concentrating on making my October Design Team Challenge for Wild Orchid Crafts..we were challenged to make a halloween treat bag.

Supplies used:~

  1. Glassine Bag
  2. Black Textured Cardstock
  3. My Minds Eye 12 x 12  Mischievous Patterned paper collection pack
  4. GT-00027 100 Grit German Glass Glitter from Wild Orchid Crafts
  5. GR-00018 1/2″ Black Gingham Ribbon (WOC)
  6. SP-00041 Deep Red Rhinestones (WOC)
  7. Scor Tape and Hot Glue
  8. Black Chipboard Spider from Deb (think its a Tim Holtz Die)

Here is a wee Photo Step by step for you 🙂

Take a glassine bag and line the edges and centre with Scortape

Remove the adhesive backing strips and place the glassine bag face down on the reverse side of the textured cardstock

Trim off the excess, then score the top (open end) to create a closure/flap

Stick down some spooky halloween paterned paper, pick out some ribbon, choose any embelishments, then stick them all down

I already had the spider ready and glossy accented down the glitter glass

then all that’s left to do is fill your treat back and tie a bow in the top to close / seal the bag 🙂
