step 1

step 2

I inked around the edges, then edged in Lancashire Rose megaflakes…added some embelishments, more ink, some more stamping, a wee bit embossing, some cardboard box offcuts… et voila!… although I made add to it later 😉  I’m not sure I have finished yet.

Seaglass Tealight Holder

I broke out my sea glass stash this morning and I made another tea light holder, this time using Aqua, Blue and Green pieces of seaglass.

If you fancy making one of these, I can offer the following tips..

  • Place your glass container onto a platform/box that you can turn as you add the sea glass, it saves turning the container which can displace the glass.
  • Build it in 1/3rds as the glass can be quite heavy, allowing the adhesive to dry overnight before re-commencing.

Here is what it looks like during the day… I had just finished making it 🙂

and I waited all night for it to get dark so that I could see what it would be like all lit up …it is sooo pretty 🙂

Seaglass Candle Holder

Hi everyone… how are you all doing?

I have not posted anything for over a week … that’s because we had a wee holiday, we headed up to Royal Deeside, to Braemar for a few days.. recharged our batteries and chilled.  I  love getting away, travelling to new places, taking in the local scenery etc, it is good for the soul 🙂

I came home bursting with ideas and inspiration!..

This is my first project… I sorted through all my seaglass collection and gathered all the opaque white pieces to make a tealight holder.. The glass I used was recycled, it had Nutella in it beforehand, you know the one that comes with the white plastic lid 🙂

seaglasscandle

I used Pinflair gel glue to fix all my glass into position, it takes a while to dry, but is perfect for this type of project, when it dries it has a rubbery feel to it, plus it is good with heat..

Here is a view of the candle before I placed a tealight inside.

Here is a proper look at it in the dark.. for the full effect of the beautiful seaglass

night

I am really tempted to make others, one using my aqua glass and one with my green glass collections.

I had a little play around with the 3rd image below and changed the hue / colour settings to give it a purple glow, then added a little touch of space overlay 😉

Well… that’s my wee post for the night, as always, thanks so much for popping round.

See you soon with more projects

Notebooks and Flower Pots

Hi everyone…

Busy day in the shed .. I spent the morning tidying and sorting (again)!  and early evening I managed to make another couple of projects to take along to my Indigoblu demonstrations.

When I was down in Kelso a couple of weekends ago, I picked up some items for altering, and used these today..

First project is a clay plant pot.. I gave it a base coat of Gee-Sso Good White Gesso… it dried really quick, no need to use the  heat gun,  then a napkin that I bought a while back,  next i applied some Slap it on Matte, and adhered the napkin to the pot..

Napkin Pottery 1

Once the napkin was completely dry, I wrapped 3 x strips of 1/8th Inch Red Line Tape around the pot, and applied some Lancashire Rose Megaflake.. look how it shines, I just love it!

Napkin Pottery 3

the second project continues with the same these of using napkins and slap it on matte medium to cover a note book…

Note Book1

This wee notebook measures approx 5.5″ x 5.5″ and the napkin covered it beautifully, the only difference between the 2 projects is I did not apply any gee-sso good gesso to the book before applying the napkin.
