A Wee Wooly Heart

A Wee Wooly Heart….

Hello everyone!

Guess what?

I tried needle felting for the very first time on Sunday!.. I think i’m hooked πŸ˜‰

We had travelled up to the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace in Perthshire and I drifted into the craft marquee…got chatting to a few of the lovely crafters and came home with 2 felting needles, some sheep wool and large bag of Alpaca fleece!

I have to give a huge big thank you to Patsy from Blackbird Felt who was so kind and took time to explain all things felting to me, and gave me a couple of needles and a piece of sheep wool to have a go and see if I liked it …. (I did and i’m hooked)

It was also lovely to meet Alison from Balnuith Alpacas, I bought a big bag of fleece to take home and start felting.. if you click on this link here it will take you to their facebook page.

Here is the fleece I bought, thank you Kiwi for your lovely fleece, they even put a picture in of the alpaca that gave up it’s wee coat so that you can craft with it, how cool is that!

I have since been online and bought a few bits n bobs to help me on my way… πŸ˜‰ Β  and I spent some time tonight to create this wee wooly heart.. it is work in progress, but I was itching to share it with you all.. because I hate not sharing πŸ˜‰ and I was bursting at the seams to blog it lol.

It is about 2″ square (if you know what i mean) and I have plans for this little beauty πŸ™‚ hopefully by the end of the week I will have finished it and will be able to share the finished project.

As always, thanks so much for popping round and listening to my excited ramblings about something else crafty that I have discovered

See you soon

  1. I too love needle felting … it’s so amazing how quickly something comes together and suddenly, as if by magic or slight of hand, there’s this amazing work of heart in front of you.

Love the heart and I hope you get many many hours of needle felting … but don’t look away while you’re poking that needle, because experience has told me how sharp those little barbs are!!! eek!. ~ Cobs.
