Pink Birthday Cards

Good Morning Everyone!

I have a couple of pink birthday cards to share with you today… 2 the same but slightly different πŸ˜‰

I have challenged myself to use the craft supplies that I have and not to buy any new things for a year… apart from the essential adhesives. Β  Β  I did it a few years back and I am sure I will be able to do it again πŸ™‚ wish me luck!

I used butterflies from my stash to feature as the focal point of the card.. one had a backer and the other didn’t hence the same but different cards πŸ™‚

I painted them using 2 different paints, the back being Paperartsy blush and the top filigree layer using silver starlight paint.

Supplies List:-

  • Heavyweight white cardstock from Ross Papercraft for the base
  • Recollections 12 x 12 patterned paper
  • Silver textured cardstock
  • Lil Inker Stitched Square Dies
  • Clearly Besotted happy + birthday dies
  • Zig Glue Pen
  • Sellotape double sided tape

The card below does not have the backing to the butterfly like the card above and it glued directly onto the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card… it is amazing what you can make by using what you have in your current supplies… Β it is so tempting to spend money and buy all the latest releases isn’t it πŸ™‚

Here is the video of how I made the cards today πŸ™‚

One of these cards was made for a an order and the other card will be available in my etsy storeΒ (now sold) thank you Gina xx

As always thank you for popping round

  1. That is such a beautiful card. You do a lot of techniques I am not familiar with. You sure have pretty paints.

      1. I was doing really well – 4 months of abstinence- till I was lucky enough to get a Hobbycraft gift card for Christmas and the temptation won. I keep thinking I’ll start again but then finding new excuses.
        Keep your followers updated x

      2. I am going to try really hard and have a good incentive, because if temptation strikes Iwill just say to myself, that’s Β£x I could be reducing my vet bill with πŸ™‚ I will only be buying adhesive’s or blades for my trimmers, in fact I bought blades on saturday when I was teaching a workshop in Edinburgh, I just tried not to look at all the lovely new goodies on the way out πŸ™‚

  2. I love the butterfly on this card…it just pops. I chuckled when I read your post because I learned in such a short time how addicting stamping and scrapbooking can be. A friend just intoxicated me into this world of stamping about 6 months ago of that and omg i spent a small fortune already. And then i see the sales and you just can’t stop shipping because the stamps are adorable, and the papers beautiful…hook line and sinker. Hahaha. I need to take a page out of your post and use what I have to help me practice and learn all these techniques, and stop buying things who knows if i will ever use it. Thanks for your post

    1. Thank you Doreen, I had to laugh at your comment, because this was me way back in 2009 and I have not stopped πŸ˜€ there is always something new to learn or some new paper pad that you just have to have … time for me to put it all to good use πŸ™‚ xx Sarah
