Hovis ~ Cat in a Bag

Hi Everyone… this is my second project for June designing for Wild Orchid Crafts for YouTube being part of the Wild Bunch Design Team.   Link to Video on how I put the layout together

I created this 12 x 12 Layout of Hovis, our Birman Cat… when my daughter was getting packed for her vacation last week, she had taken some new clothes that we had bought out of this huge brown paper carrier bag, and no sooner was it empty and Hovis jumped right on in there 🙂   So I quickly grabbed my camera and took a few pictures…

Daisy .. .. She’s not your average Girl

Another beautiful day today… the sun is shining and the birds are singing and spring smells absolutely wonderful!

The picture in this layout was taken a couple of years ago and had been in my mind to make a layout with it, i’d just not gotten round to it.. until today.     The picture is of one of my Chickens called Daisy, a lovely hen who is no longer with us, she sadly passed away last month.

This my 3rd layout that I have made so far.. and I really need to source a way of storing them, so if anyone knows of any good storage methods/albums etc, please can you let me know 🙂

There is a rather large list of supplies for this layout:~

  • Picture of Daisy printed out on HP Semi Glossy 10x15cm Photo Paper
  • Bazzill Textured Cardstock 12 x 12 in a bluey shade
  • Kaisercraft Gypsy Sisters 12 x 12 patterned Paper P488 Nadia

Ur a HOOT

I started this layout at the weekend… then discovered the challenge that I was entering this for had a sketch that you had to follow so I had to start again lol… and set this aside.

I decided to finish it off tonight in the workshop, whilst I pondered over what else I’m going to do with the recipe swap cards 🙂

It’s a layout of my Daughter …. She’s a real hoot lol

I added a few Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts

Making Memories glittered chipboard letters

Hand Dyed Crinkle Seam binding to add a finishing touch to the end of the journalling spot

I stickled the branches with Vintage Photo Distress Stickles

YPP 12 x 12 Layout Challenge ~ My Dad…

This is the very first,  fully completed layout page I have ever done, and it’s a layout of my dad..

This is the sketch given as a guide, it’s the February challenge over at Your Paper Pantry hosted by Cari and sponsored by Lindy’s Stamp Gang.

Here’s what I did with my layout… I went for the vintage shabby look

I chose the Ella Blue Paper Collection from g.c.d. Studios

I incorporated Lindys Stamp Gang Moon Shaddows and Starburst Stains into the Layout…

My Dad is the handsome chap driving

I also hand dyed the flower and the Seam binding with the Van Dyke Sepia

and instead of attaching a journalling spot, I just drew some lines and then wrote a wee bit about my dad

More Seam Binding and 3 gold stars.. cause my dad was fab

Special thanks to Cari for hosting this and getting me to think outside the cardmaking box that I bury myself in 😉
