Bless your Wee Wooly Heart

Bless your wee wooly heart…

I {{heart}} felting so much… I have more idea’s in mind for future projects, and I am excited to get started with these, but need to wait on “felty stuffs” arriving in the mail before I can do anything else….. maybe ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย  (just thought of something lol)

So…. last night whilst wee wooly gingerbread guy was in progress, I remembered I had a star cookie cutter in the back of the kitchen drawer!… and before I knew it, i had 2 projects on the go at once lol

I waited until this morning to finish the star off because I needed some silver thread and beads from my shed

I love how it turned out.. this is the last of the sheep wool that I was given, I need to order more of the same because I want to make more of these to put on my christmas tree this year. ย  ย In fact I might even get a real tree this year because these stars would be perfect! ย  I may put some on my Etsy Shop too, the shelves over there have been bare for a loooong time ๐Ÿ™‚

As always, thanks for popping round

See you soon!

Summer Butterfly Tag

Hi Everyone… ย I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

It’s our town gala day today and it looks like it might just be a bit of a wash out… the Met Office have issued a Yellow Warning for rain today and I was hoping it would stay off long enough and not spoil the Gala Day procession and festivities… but half an hour ago the heavens opened, and I mean opened and this was the view outside my wee shed! ย Great big huge raindrops.. and torrential!

I’m wondering if the gala day is cancelled now… will find out soon as hubby is just popping out in the car to drive our son to work.

Anyway.. enough about horrid weather and onto a lovely summery tag!

Handmade Glittery Felt Flowers

I love making these… they are a tad footery to do but love the end result ๐Ÿ™‚

First of all take some felt and cut 8 petal shapes, dip the edges in glossy accents and then re-dip into a small container with some fine glitter .. or some german glass glitter and set aside to dry completely… I made these yesterday and allowed them to dry overnight.

Then you need to sew them all together into a flower shape (just imagine the flower below has glitter around the edges ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย )

Next you need to create the stamen for the centre with some fine wire and seed beads, its ย too complicated to explain the process, so will do a ustream tutorial on it one day soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Then you need to stitch the stamen onto the centre of the felt flower, and also pick a nice glass bead or button and stitch that to the middle too ๐Ÿ™‚

Then your done! … I turned mine into a christmas tag…

Thanks so much for visiting ๐Ÿ™‚

Butterflies . . . . .

Its a wee bit blustery out there tonight .. it seems that Scotland is in for a bit of a battering with hurricane force winds sweeping across the country!

Tonight In the workshop I made an altered/decorated A5 ring bound notebook.

The front panel I had started a couple of months back when I got into he old sewing kick, and I found it by accident in one of my drawers tonight, ย  it was just perfect for the colour scheme of the painted covers so I used it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I painted all sides of the front and back covers, then did a bit of stamping with Brilliance starlight silver ink.. and some new Urban stamps from papermania

and the back page…

Thanks for popping in ๐Ÿ™‚

Fabric ATC

Last week I brought some ink sprays and muslin fabric down from the workshop to the kitchen table and played around dying some background swatches… Tonight in the workshop I created an ATC with one of the backgrounds..

I’m still practicing with the whole sewing thing, and have loads of ideas in my head what I want things to look like, but it’ll take me a while to get there so just taking baby steps at the moment… I guess it will be like the very first cards I made, I thought they were brilliant, and when I look back now I cringe lol… This fabric ATC is the same, I love it… but a couple of years down the line I may think differently ๐Ÿ˜‰

There are several layers to this ATC..

  • Backing (bottom layer) is non furry hessian with a small weave
  • Middle layer is grey felt
  • Top Layer is ink sprayed Muslin
  • Embelished with Seam binding and satin ribbon offcuts from a project i’m working on at the moment ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Its all stitched with Silver Gutterman Thread
  • There’s some Bugle beads in the 4 corners attached to a small square of seam binding.
