Bokeh Effect

Hi Everyone…

Sharing a card that I made for CHA with you today… it features the Dramatic Eye stamp from Indigoblu /Limor Webber..

Dramatic-Eye-A6-insert-front-IND0135-180-x-120

The finished card is highlighted with the bokeh effect, which seems to be rather popular at the moment, it is achieved by creating a template with circles, placing this on the card, then applying an opaque white ink over top with a sponge dauber… I do love the look.

I also used Indigoblu acrylic paints to create a brayered effect background, and added some script stamping to give it a nice wee background.

I also used some recollections textured cardstock that I had bought to make christmas cards, (and never got used lol) which sets it quite nicely against the black card base and layers.

As always, thanks for popping round.. see you all on Wednesday as it’s my turn over on the Indigoblu Blog.

Altered Indigoblu Mannequin

mannequin 1

Hellooooo……

It has been a while since my last blog post, too long, i think, but I have been busy πŸ™‚

Today I have an altered Indigoblu mannequin /dressform to share with you…. this will be coming along to all the Indigoblu demonstrations I will be doing in the coming months.

mannequin 2

There is a cool technique used on the mannequin, whereby you stamp tissue in the ink and stamps of your choice, then apply it to the mannequin with slap it on matte..

mannequin 4

I have also used the large butterfly stamp with megaflake stamped onto vellum twice and attached them back to back to give it wings that look good from both sides..

mannequin 3

I also added various trims and embelishments from my wee craft shed to finish her off..

mannequin 6

I hope you like today’s project, now I have tackled doing one, I quite fancy making more πŸ™‚

There will be a full supply list at the bottom of this post if you fancy having a go at making one for yourself πŸ™‚

Retirement Wishes Book

I was asked to make a retirement card for someone at work who is leaving at the end of June… and I thought rather than making a “big” card, I would do something a wee bit different and make a retirement book, where there will be loads of space for everyone to write a wee message πŸ™‚

retirement book

The book measures 6″ x 4″ .. and I will be making a card stock envelope/box for it tomorrow evening, with the We r memory keepers envelope punch board, so if you are around at 7pm GMT i will be over on Ustream making it live.

Supplies List:-

  • 2 x pieces of 6 x 4 greyboard/chipboard
  • 1 x sheet of 12 x 12 patterned paper
  • Chipboard Letters
  • Promarker or Copic Markers to colour the letters – I used Peach Promarker
  • Bind it All Machine
  • Pink half inch Β “O” Wire
  • Vintage Cream cardstocky paper for the inside (it is thicker than paper but thinner than cardstock) πŸ˜‰
  • Stampin up dimensional adhesive
  • Scortape – lots of πŸ™‚

retirement book

See you tomorrow!
