Tea for 2 tags

It has been a glorious spring day here in Scotland today… fingers crossed it stays like this for a long time ๐Ÿ™‚

I finally got my laptop fixed, been lost without it… and whilst it was going through the fixing process, I had a tidy up in my shed, put a lot of things away and also had a good old spring clean!

When I was having a sort through and putting things away I came across some lovely stampin up papers that Crafty Helen had sent me with one of my orders last year…. I kept them out and made a couple of tags with them late this afternoon.

Shabby Chic Flower Chest

I made this project last weekend on Sunday!!… oh my goodness what a quick and busy week it has been.

This is last weeks DT project for Wild Orchid Crafts ๐Ÿ™‚

This project started off ย its wee life looking a bit like this

I then cut out some chipboard pieces.. with a view to making a little mini to fit inside the box..

I then made the binding for the mini … see Laura Dennison Stack the Deck for the tutorial and cut and punched the edges

I picked some nice shabby chic patterned papers and covered the chipboard

I gave the box a coat of Gesso and rose pink acrylic paint, a generous helping of lovely flowers and hey presto!

I have already posted this project over on Youtube if you fancied a wee peek ๐Ÿ™‚

Secret Santa Present … It’s a Wrap!

Tonight in my shed I wrapped and decorated my secret santa present for work… our draw is tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

Cant say who I drew out the hat to receive my gift (big secret) but I do think that they will like it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I used some K & Company patterned paper, I dont think its a christmassy one, but it went well with the emelishments that I had in mind to decorate the top

I tied the parcel with raffia in matching colours to the paper and then took some glittery foliage picks and berries and topped the parcel …. I also used the christmas tag that I made the other day, on the flip side of the tag it says To : ??????? from : Santa x ๐Ÿ™‚

Handmade Glittery Felt Flowers

I love making these… they are a tad footery to do but love the end result ๐Ÿ™‚

First of all take some felt and cut 8 petal shapes, dip the edges in glossy accents and then re-dip into a small container with some fine glitter .. or some german glass glitter and set aside to dry completely… I made these yesterday and allowed them to dry overnight.

Then you need to sew them all together into a flower shape (just imagine the flower below has glitter around the edges ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย )

Next you need to create the stamen for the centre with some fine wire and seed beads, its ย too complicated to explain the process, so will do a ustream tutorial on it one day soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Then you need to stitch the stamen onto the centre of the felt flower, and also pick a nice glass bead or button and stitch that to the middle too ๐Ÿ™‚

Then your done! … I turned mine into a christmas tag…

Thanks so much for visiting ๐Ÿ™‚

Violet Toilet Water …

Oh how Iย have missed being in my workshop for a whole day and a half ๐Ÿ™‚

I was out to lunch yesterday celebrating my friend from schools birthday with the girls, we had lunch at 4pm and sat drinking and blethering (chatting) all night… I got home at 1.00am lol .. a good time was had by all..

I did a bit of craft shopping today, I went through to a haberdashery kinda place in the next town along (about a 20 min drive) from me and stocked up on lace, I bought 10 bundles @ 60p each approx 144 inches/12 feet per bundle which I think is a great deal!

I also bought a new 12 x 12 paper pad by G.C.D. Studios called Paris Nights, its lovely, all creams, blacks, greys, beige & browns.

So I made this card with my weekend buys … I’m still trying to think of a use for the card, perhaps just a notecard, seeing as the advert from the patterned paper is saying “Voilet Toilet Water”!! does anyone know what it’s for… is it for sticking down the loo to make it fresh n’ flowery or is it a perfume? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Bazzill Kraft Cardstock cut to make a card 4.5″ x 4.5″
  • G.C.D. Studios paris Nights 12 x 12 patterned Paper
