Happy Sunday everyone!!
I just wanted to share some sparkly stick pins that I made earlier this morning, the plan is i’m going to make some cards and incorporate my stick pins on them.. I was inspired to make some after I opened the lovely birthday card that Crafty Helen sent me 🙂
So here they are in all their sparkly wonder 🙂
I used Swarovski crystals, diamonte roundelles and spacers and used some of the decorativeMaking Memories Wedding Pins that Mitzi sent me 🙂
and I also made some blue ones…
and stuck them all together with Ranger Glossy Accents 🙂
Hope your all having a wonderful Sunday….
I have pottered between the shed and the house today, I have been sorting buttons, dismantling jewellery, reading books and playing with copper wire..
In one of the books I read there was a great little project where you had to make your own coat hanger from wire and also an apron or “pinny” …. inspired by this I set off to make one and here’s my version…
The book that this delightful wee project came from was called Layered, Tattered and Stitched: A Fabric Art Workshop by Ruth Rae, I bought this book in 2011 from Amazon.
I used the following materials to make it :-
- Sewing Machine
- Vintage sheet music paper
- Muslin Fabric
- Vintage lace ribbon
- May Arts Ruffle Edge Pink Ribbon & Velvet Ribbon
- Vintage Pink Buttons
- Pink Thread
- Rose Petal Seam Binding from Wild Orchid Crafts
- Satin Heart
- White Lace
- 2 x vintage safety pins (they were out my mums button box ❤ )
- Copper Wire
This was fun to make and i’m already looking forward to trying something out her book for next weekend

I will finish off my post with a wee peek at some vintage jewellery my mother in law gave me a few months ago.. its gorgeous and it came from her old aunty jenny .. its just lovely 🙂

A bit of a random post, but, my weekend has been a bit random too…. I am working on a project at the moment and that combined with Card orders and work, really’s not leaving me with much time to make things and have a play around 🙂 Oh and I also got another lightweight swap posted out at the weekend too.
I made these today, my first attempts at making little charms and stick pins… boy I can see this becoming addictive 🙂
The one below is the first one I made
I made this little flower peg on saturday morning, out of a scrap of cardstock, a pearl and a wee peg
I made this on sunday morning, I watched a tutorial on youtube by Splitcoast Stampers for a 4″ x 4″ card box (pizza box stylie) I like it but I think my measurements for the belly band were out slightly as it was a bot loose 🙂 will need to give this another try and see if I make a better job 2nd time around ..
