Welcome to Day 12 of Blogmas and another Christmassy Crafty Project
I was at Stampers Grove Craft Shop on Saturday and got some of these fab papermache stars to paint…
I have had a lot of fun painting stuff for christmas this year, and I used some of the Imagination Crafts Starlights Paints to give these stars a lovely shiny new coat..
The three colours I chose to paint them were Apple Green, Chartruese and Jade.. I love how they turned out and they will look great on the tree 🙂
As always, thank you for popping round and I will see you tomorrow for Day 13 of Blogmas
Welcome to Blogmas Day 6!
Today’s Christmas crafty project is a couple of purple reindeer Glitter and Shimmer 🙂
I have made these for Alex at work’s daughter to hang on her wee christmas tree, I made the glittery one first and I think If i was making another glittery one I would give it a base layer of paint the same colour of glitter I was going to cover it with, the reason being, if you look hard enough you can see the paper mache brown shining through… did i mention i got these at hobbycraft reduced to 50p each.. i love a wee bargain
But as this will be going on a Christmas tree I don’t think you will notice it too much..as after the glittery one was finished, I painted the other one with Imagination Crafts Lilac Mist Starlights paint… i like this one better
I forgot to mention that I gave the glittery one a good old spray with Crafters Companion shiny varnish spray to keep the glitter in, as it sheds like crazy
I really need to get my christmas cards made, so tomorrow will be a card post 🙂
As always, thank you so much for popping round and I will catch you all tomorrow 🙂
Welcome to Blogmas Day 3
I have had a super busy day today, my day started off with a workshop at Stampers Grove in Edinburgh, followed by late lunch with the boys, a couple of hours housework and then I headed up the garden to my shed to make things 🙂
If you remember last week I featured Tags and Cards that were gilded with gilding flakes to make them look that wee bit special… well today I thought I would share some tree ornaments that I gilded too.
I took a paper mache reindeer and a glass clip on bird and turned them into lovely ornaments.. here are a couple of before and after pictures
Glass Clip on Bird (it’s hard to see against the background.. I tried a few but they all looked the same 🙂
I used Cosmic Shimmer Flake and Glitter Glue as my adhesive and also some gilding flakes Chocolate Box and Yorkshire Dales.
Here is the Reindeer with his new coat
and the wee bird
and the two together
I hope you enjoyed today’s Christmas ornaments, these two will be added to my tree once it goes up 🙂
I hope to see you tomorrow for day 4, and thanks so much for popping in today.
In my post yesterday I promised a video tutorial/run through of me making a more of the shabby chic paper cone Christmas trees…
I headed up to my wee craft shed at 8.30 am this morning, cranked the heaters up full blast (it’s minus 5 degrees outside) and set to work making more of these gorgeous shabby shiny trees…
The first one I made was the blue tree , above, this is 6.5″ tall and love how it turned out… there is a video over on youtube detailing all the products that I used for all 3 trees plus a video of all the above 🙂 … click here to watch.
I went outside and braved the sub zero temperatures to take a picture in the sunlight, and love the effect it gave, sitting on the frosty logs 🙂
a close up of the shiney blue tree in the sunshine
then I made a tiny silver shabby tree..
I’m loving getting back into my craft shed… and plan to make more time for myself and get up here more often 🙂
After making these trees, i’m finally getting into the christmas spirit!
My next project is going to be more festive gift tags incorporating vintage images and wild orchid crafts flowers… watch this space
Thanks so much for popping round
