ATC Art Shrine & Crafty News

Hi Everyone!

I mentioned yesterday that I had some news to share…

I am so happy to be able to let you know that I am a design team member for 2017-2018 for ColourCraft and I am looking forward to creating lots of nice new projects for them in the coming year.. and of course you will get to see them all because they will all be featured here on my blog πŸ™‚

I also have an ATC Art Shrine to share with you… this is from a company called That’s Crafty and they can be bought from http://www.stampersgrove.co.uk

they arrive in kit form and you have to glue all the bits together to make the shrine, you get 3 in a packet.. I gave one a coat of Deco Art white gesso, then cracked open my new set of Tim Holtz mini Stencils and used 2 different ones along with Deco Art Modelling Paste

I also used 2 pots of Brush crystals to obtain the gorgeous colour on the shrine.. Turquoise and Light Brown…

I popped in an ATC that I made some time ago, just to see what it looked like up against the ATC Shrine

I’m loving how the blue pops through the brown in random places.. and I am looking forward to decorating the other two soon… not sure if I am entirely finished decorating this one yet, I might add something else to the front, but if I do I will be sure to post an updated picture

That’s all for today, as always thanks for popping round and I will see you soon

Seahorse Triptych

Hi Everyone!

A long time has passed since I have made or posted anything here on my wee blog..

I have been enjoying some time off from crafting and I’m ready to throw myself back into it for 2017..

I am almost finished the Rhona mini album, just waiting on more instax printer film arriving so that I can print off a few more picture of her to allow me to finish the album off πŸ™‚ andI also have my December Scrawlrbox to review, the contents were fab!

Now onto today’s blog post… last year I did a workshop at Stampers Grove and it was a sea themed triptych, now I never shared the project here on my blog, mainly because all the photo’s of it were on my phone. Β  Β One of the lovely ladies (Hi Margaret) who came along to the workshop had asked me if I had pictures of the completed project, so I downloaded them all onto my laptop and here they are.. they are in various stages but you will get the jist of it hopefully πŸ™‚

trip-1

The structure (back wall and doors) were made using an old cardboard box cut down to shape

trip-4

The arch windows are made from acetate and the seahorse stamped on using stazon

trip-6

I used a lot of sea blue glass beads and also incorporated some sea glass from my local beach

trip-3

I used a coffee filter in the picture below to give a sea like texture to the back wall, and i used a lot of sprays, inks and treasure gold to get this lovely effect

trip-8

I also used embossing folders to give the diamond effect door panels

trip-7

I used a little fish glass bead as a faux closure to the triptych below, and I used golden heavy gel medium to stick the beads in place, you can see in the picture below everything is still wet and newly glued down, this medium dried clear

I hope you enjoyed seeing this project, and I hope this helps you out Margaret πŸ™‚

As always, thank you for popping round and I shall see you all soon

Good evening everyone…

Hope you all had a a great christmas and you are all looking forward to a sparkly new year!

I have been busy cleaning the house all day today, getting ready for a wee party we are hosting on new years eve/day

So later on this evening I headed up the garden to my shed for a spot of arty crafty fun.

Tonight’s project consisted of me creating some art tiles / paintings to go into a 5 photo frame that I usually have hanging in my downstairs loo… there were pictures of various sail boats in it before and I wanted Β something blue and sparkley.. so here is what i made

Lou Blue Photo Frames

I used various distress stains, glitters, seam binding, embossing powders, and Salt!

Here is the first tile/sheet ….. it is embossed with my new embossing folder that I got for xmas and also has the addition of some gilding flakes

Embossed & Gilded

the second is stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder, I also encorporated some lindys stamp gang scintilating silver spray… it makes it lovely and sparkley πŸ™‚

Linen Sparkle

number three is scrunched and embossed with silver embossing powder

Silver Crackle

and number4 has the addition of some rock salt, thanks to Eileen, one of my crafty friends for the suggestion… I love the effect!

and if you look closely, you can see 2 faces!!

Salt Wash

and finally on to number 5… this incorporates seam binding and rock candy distress dry glitter.. love this one too!

SeamBinding Sea

I have a new laptop and new photo editing software, which are taking quite a bit of getting used to !!

Have a great weekend and have a happy new year when it arrives x
