Love Hearts, Sinful Scrap Bag & Painted Chipboard

It’s been a night of pondering and faffing about in my workshop.

Started off by getting hubby to remove 2 big spiders that were hiding behind my tub of diamond dust.

I then took a look at the bag that currently houses all my scraps and offcuts of patterned paper, cardstock etc, and decided to shame myself on my blog of just how much I had managed to cram into that 12 x 12 plastic layout bag lol (below)

Oh my goodness… where is the blush icon when you need one !!

Then I decided that cracking open that new pad of prima patterned paper was a bad idea, given the contents of the above bag, and I settled down to make a scrappy challenge card out of said bag πŸ˜€

Supplies Used :-

  • Papermania Textured Pink Cardstock x 2 different shades
  • Woodware Heart Punch
  • The Sewing Machine (still had pink thread in it from the weekend)
  • Diamond Stickles
  • Brilliance Coffee Bean Ink

I think that tomorrow night i’m going to sort through the scraps sin bag, separate into colours and then spend the rest of this week and next making cards and envelopes to stick on my Folksy Store seeing as its empty!

I also painted some chipboard flower shapes tonight, base coated with Gesso, then a layer of acrylic paint / adirondak paint daubers etc to start making my own flower embellies, they are not finished yet, but thought I would share the progress I’d made so far

Sunday Scrap Challenge

I still have no idea what I want to make today so I set myself a scrap challenge…

I took one of the chipboard tags Deb sent me and got out my trusty bag of scraps πŸ™‚ searched for a few blue paper scraps and cut some into strips… then adhered to the tag.. I like how it turned out…

You could always add a rub on to it, or add a chipbopard initial, or add a tiny flower, loop some fibres through the end .. there are loads of possibilities πŸ™‚ Just thought I would share it with you.. I think i’ll be making some more of these

Here is my finishes mini tag for my sunday scrap challenge πŸ™‚

Scrap Challenge

I was tidying up my desk in the workshop tonight, you know what it’s like once you start making card, you tend to get everything out…

I was left with a small pile of offcuts (below) and set myself a mini challenge… to make a card with the scraps.

Here’s what I made… a small card for my hubby, just sending him some love and thanking him for trailing away out this evening to do a job for me πŸ™‚

He came back in at 10.45pm, opened up his card and said “Is this me on the front of the card” it wasn’t intentional but when you look at it, it looks like a face! 2 eyes and 2 front teeth lol… hmmm… must have been thinking about him subconciously, and here’s me thinking I was making an abstract man card πŸ™‚

I think i’ll set myself a mid week scrap challenge every week, it was fun! Β anyone else fancy joining in?
