Seahorse Triptych

Hi Everyone!

A long time has passed since I have made or posted anything here on my wee blog..

I have been enjoying some time off from crafting and I’m ready to throw myself back into it for 2017..

I am almost finished the Rhona mini album, just waiting on more instax printer film arriving so that I can print off a few more picture of her to allow me to finish the album off πŸ™‚ andI also have my December Scrawlrbox to review, the contents were fab!

Now onto today’s blog post… last year I did a workshop at Stampers Grove and it was a sea themed triptych, now I never shared the project here on my blog, mainly because all the photo’s of it were on my phone. Β  Β One of the lovely ladies (Hi Margaret) who came along to the workshop had asked me if I had pictures of the completed project, so I downloaded them all onto my laptop and here they are.. they are in various stages but you will get the jist of it hopefully πŸ™‚

trip-1

The structure (back wall and doors) were made using an old cardboard box cut down to shape

trip-4

The arch windows are made from acetate and the seahorse stamped on using stazon

trip-6

I used a lot of sea blue glass beads and also incorporated some sea glass from my local beach

trip-3

I used a coffee filter in the picture below to give a sea like texture to the back wall, and i used a lot of sprays, inks and treasure gold to get this lovely effect

trip-8

I also used embossing folders to give the diamond effect door panels

trip-7

I used a little fish glass bead as a faux closure to the triptych below, and I used golden heavy gel medium to stick the beads in place, you can see in the picture below everything is still wet and newly glued down, this medium dried clear

I hope you enjoyed seeing this project, and I hope this helps you out Margaret πŸ™‚

As always, thank you for popping round and I shall see you all soon
